Making QR codes one at a time stops working somewhere around the twentieth. Asset tags, table numbers, event badges, product batches, property listings, classroom worksheets, serialized packaging — these are all jobs where you need hundreds or thousands of codes that are individually distinct and individually measurable, and where generating them by hand is not a real option. Bulk creation takes a CSV where each row is a destination and produces one dynamic QR code per row in a single job. Crucially, these are not throwaway static images: every generated code is a full dynamic code, which means each one is independently editable afterwards and each one reports its own scans. That is what separates a genuine bulk generator from a batch image exporter — you can reprice a single product's code without touching the other 4,999, and you can see which of two thousand asset tags actually get scanned. Most free bulk tools hand you a folder of static images: fine as a one-off, worthless the moment anything changes, and silent about whether a single one was ever scanned. The difference shows up six months later, when a URL moves or a document is revised and the choice is between editing some rows in a dashboard and reprinting several thousand labels. Design is applied once across the whole run, so a batch of five thousand costs the same effort as a batch of one, and the job produces print-resolution files ready to hand to whoever is doing the physical production. Bulk creation is part of the Business plan at 49 dollars a month, or 392 dollars billed annually.
Six jobs that need codes by the thousand
One contact card per employee
Generate a vCard code for every person in a staff CSV in one pass, each carrying that person's own details. New starters get added in the next batch rather than designed individually, and because every code is dynamic, someone changing role does not invalidate the cards already printed — you edit their destination and the existing cards update. For a company printing badges or cards at any scale this replaces a design task with a spreadsheet column.
Free vCard QR Code Generator →A document code per product line
Manuals, safety sheets, and certificates of conformity usually differ per SKU. A bulk job maps each SKU row to its own document code, so the code printed on each box opens exactly the right paperwork. When a document is revised you update the destinations for the affected rows only. The scan data then tells you which product lines generate documentation lookups, which is a surprisingly good proxy for where buyers are confused.
PDF to QR Code Generator →Serialized asset and equipment tags
Every asset gets a code that resolves to its own record — location, maintenance history, whatever your system exposes at a URL. Because each tag is tracked separately, scan history doubles as an informal audit trail of which equipment is actually being inspected. Generating five thousand of these by hand is not a task anyone should be asked to do; from a CSV it is one job. Asset tags are also the clearest case for dynamic codes over static ones, because the systems behind them get replaced far more often than the labels do. When the maintenance platform changes, you repoint the destinations and every label already stuck to a machine keeps working — with static codes that migration means relabelling the entire estate.
Text QR Code Generator →Numbered table and seat codes
Forty tables, forty codes, one per table tent, each with its own scan count. That per-table breakdown is what turns a venue's QR menu from a single number into a map of which rooms and sections actually use it. Weddings and conferences use the same pattern for seating, where each seat code can carry its own information and be updated after the print run when the plan inevitably changes.
QR Code Menu for Your Restaurant →A code per property listing
Estate agents put a code on every board, window card, and brochure, each pointing at that specific listing. Generated in bulk from the same export that feeds the listings themselves, the codes stay in sync with the portfolio. When a property sells you repoint its code at your current stock rather than leaving a dead board on the street — and the scan counts tell you which streets generate interest.
Location QR Code Generator →Batch and campaign codes for packaging
Print run codes let you tell batches apart after they leave the building. One code per batch means a recall, a promotion, or a regional variation can target exactly the units concerned, and the location data shows where each batch physically ended up. This is the kind of thing that is impossible with a single shared code and trivial with a bulk job. The value compounds over time: a year of batch codes is a year of evidence about how stock actually moves through your distribution, gathered as a by-product of printing something you were going to print anyway.
Image QR Code Generator →How to generate QR codes in bulk
- 1
Prepare your CSV
One row per code, with the destination in its own column and a name you will recognize later. Naming the rows properly is worth the extra minute — it is how you will find a single code among thousands afterwards.
- 2
Pick the type and design once
Colors, logo, and frame are applied to the whole batch, so every code comes out on brand without per-code work.
- 3
Run the job
Upload the file and let the batch process. Each row becomes its own dynamic code with its own short link, not a copy of a shared one.
- 4
Download and hand off to print
Export the whole set at print resolution. From that point every code is independently editable and independently tracked, exactly like a code you made by hand.
Every code is fully dynamic
Bulk-generated codes are not static images. Each one is editable on its own afterwards, so you can fix or repoint a single row without regenerating the batch.
Per-code scan data
Each row reports its own scans, which is the entire point of generating distinct codes rather than reusing one. Comparisons across thousands of codes stay meaningful.
One design pass, thousands of outputs
Branding is applied at the batch level, so a run of five thousand codes takes the same design effort as a run of one.
Frequently asked questions
Which plan includes bulk creation?+
Business, at 49 dollars a month or 392 dollars billed annually. It sits alongside the REST API and custom branded domains on that tier. Lite and Pro do not include bulk creation — on those plans codes are created one at a time.
How many codes can one job produce?+
There is no fixed per-job cap, and the Business plan does not limit how many dynamic codes you hold. In practice the constraint is your CSV and how long you are willing to wait for a very large batch to finish processing.
Can I edit a single code after a bulk run?+
Yes — that is the main reason to use dynamic codes for bulk work. Each generated code behaves exactly like one you created by hand, so you can change one destination, rename it, or apply link options to it without touching the rest of the batch.
Can I automate this instead of uploading a file?+
Yes. The REST API is on the same Business plan and is the better fit when codes should be created by another system — one per new CRM record, per order, or per generated document — rather than in periodic batches.
Do bulk codes expire?+
No. Like every code we generate, they are never deactivated. A batch printed onto packaging or asset tags keeps resolving for as long as those objects exist.
How should I structure the CSV?+
One row per code, the destination in its own column, and a human-readable name in another. The name matters more than people expect: it is what you will search on when you need to find one code out of several thousand months later, so use something meaningful — the SKU, the table number, the asset ID — rather than a sequential counter that means nothing on its own.
What is the difference between bulk creation and the API?+
Timing, mostly. Bulk creation suits work that arrives in batches — a print run, a new product line, a season's worth of listings — and needs no engineering. The API suits work that arrives continuously, where a code should be minted at the moment a record is created by another system. Both are on the Business plan and both produce identical dynamic codes, so choosing one does not lock you out of the other.
